Dr. Jim Heltsley was born and raised in Hopkinsville, KY. He attended and graduated from Pembroke High School in 1959. He received his doctorate of veterinary medicine from Auburn University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1974. While in veterinary school, he was a member of the Army Reserve at Tuskegee, Alabama. After graduation, he served as the post veterinarian at Ft. Knox, KY. for three years. In 1977, Dr. Heltsley, his wife, Sandra, and their four daughters moved to Glasgow. Dr. and Mrs. Heltsley currently have eight- two legged grandchildren (two more are on the way) and twenty-one four legged grandchildren.

Doctor Perkins was born and raised in Barren Couny. He attended Austin Tracy School and graduated from Barren County High School in 1979. Dr Perkins did his undergraduate work at The University of Ky. and graduated from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1986. Dr Perkins has been with Glasgow Veterinary Medical Center since this time. He resides in Glasgow with his wife, four children and Lucy their Australian Shepherd. Email

Katherine Heltsley Atkinson was born in Auburn, Alabama while her father attended veterinary school. She was raised in Glasgow, Ky., graduated from Glasgow High School in 1989, and attended Western Kentucky University. She graduated from Auburn University, College of Veterinary Medicine in 1997. Dr. Atkinson has practiced at Veterinary Medical Center since 1997. She and her husband Derek have 3 children, 3 dogs and 2 cats.

 

 

Dr. Claudia Kuykendall was born in Auburn, Alabama while her father was attending veterinary school. She grew up in Glasgow, Ky. and graduated from Glasgow High School. She attended Western Kentucky University and recieved a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Chemistry. In 2001, she recieved her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Auburn University. In addition to veterinary medicine, she enjoys spending time with her husband, children, and their pets. /her interests include camping, hiking, and traveling.
